Smith, Other Alumni Read Work in Light of Unity Series

On July 1, Eric Smith ’08M will be reading an excerpt from his novel Textual Healing at the University of Pennsylvania Bookstore as a part of the Light of Unity Association & Mad Poets Performance Series. The readings are held every first Thursday of the month from 6-9 p.m. The series runs through September.

Many Arcadia students, alumni, and faculty have participated in the performance series already, including Michelle Tooker ’07, Deborah Derrickson Kossman ’82, J Mase III ’06 and Adjunct Professors of English, Dr. Anne Kaier and Quincy Scott Jones. Dan Shall ’08,’10M is scheduled to read in the month of August. The series is organized by Tamara Oakman ’10M.

The Light of Unity Association and Mad Poets Society (MPS) are non-profit arts organizations with a mission to promote social and cultural unity in the city of Philadelphia by highlighting the literary arts.

Admission is $7 or $5 for students, seniors & MPS members. Proceeds are split in half between performing artists and a different charity each month. For more information visit lightofunityassociation.blogspot.com.
