The Community Service Office is looking for volunteers for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Sunday, Jan. 16, and Monday, Jan. 17. Shifts run 10 a.m. to noon, noon to 2 p.m., or 2 to 4 p.m.
Arcadia University volunteers will join volunteers nationwide in serving the surrounding community as a way of remembering the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Arcadia will offer free maximum-security shredding to the community as well as collecting various items to benefit Habitat for Humanity, Cradles to Crayons, the SPCA, St. Vincent de Paul, and the Lion’s Club.
Those with items to donate can bring them to Murphy Hall between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on either day. Follow signs from the Church Road entrance. If you are interested in volunteering please click here. To see a detailed list donations being accepted, click here.
Volunteers will direct and unload the cars as they arrive, sort and pack the donations, and bring the paper to the on-campus shredder. Sign up before break for one or more shifts in the Community Service Office or online at www.arcadia.edu/communityservice.
