Freshman trio leads Women’s Basketball to victory
The Knights (1-0) opened their 2012-13 campaign with an 81-44 victory over the Penn College Wildcats (1-1) on Nov. 15, using runs of 16-4 and 14-0 to open up a 24-point halftime lead. Dominique Hassinger scored a game-high 15 points, while Sam Caligiuri notched 14 and Sara DeCinque added 10 points. The team hosts Penn State-York on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. at Kuch Center Gym. Men’s Basketball gets season underway on Friday
On Nov. 16, the men’s basketball team will face Randolph College and then Drew University at the Scotty Wood Invitational, hosted by Muhlenberg College. First-year head coach Justin Scott leads a mix of veterans and newcomers who will look to be playoff contenders in the Commonwealth Conference of the MAC. The team plays its home opener against Drew on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. Check out the team’s season outlook.
Field Hockey standout picks up another post-season honor
First-year student Jennie Kamel added another honor to her résumé when she was named to the Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region First Team. Kamel is now eligible for a possible spot on the All-American Team. The forward from Doylestown, Pa., was named Commonwealth Rookie of the Year. She made the All-Commonwealth Conference First Team as well. More on Kamel’s accomplishments.
All home basketball games streamed online
The Arcadia University Athletics Department announced that every home men’s and women’s basketball game will be video streamed live on the Internet. The games can be seen live at mac.ezstream.com.
Equestrian team gears up for Hunt seat show
The Arcadia University Equestrian team competed in the York Hunt Seat Show on Nov. 11 at Encore Farms. (View show results.) The team returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 18, when they compete against West Chester University, La Salle University and Gwynedd-Mercy College in a Hunt seat competition.
