Bornstein Presents at NCSS and PCSS Conferences

In November, Dr. Jodi Bornstein, Assistant Professor and Director of Urban Fieldwork and the Equity Collaborative, presented “Circling Up: Focusing on Community in Social Studies Methods” at the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) Conference in Seattle, Wash. At the conference, she also served as a Pennsylvania Council for the Social Studies Representative to the NCSS House of Delegates.

In October, Bornstein co-presented with three Arcadia Education Graduate students, Andrew Altman, Christina Ciriello, and Kerry Goldman at the Pennsylvania Council for the Social Studies (PCSS) Conference in Bethlehem, Pa. The session was titled “How Will You Use Historical Fiction-Nonfiction Pairings In Your Classroom.” She also presented a session, “More Than A Bag of Tricks: Teaching University Methods,” at PCSS, with two colleagues, Dr. Jessica B. Schocker, Assistant Professor of Social Studies, Pennsylvania State University, Berks Campus, and Dr. Jill Beccaris Pescatore, Assistant Professor of Economics, Montgomery County Community College.
