University Community Invited to Help Plan for Arcadia University’s Future

The survey was announced to the Arcadia community in an email sent on Friday, Jan. 25. The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013. Complete the online survey.

A Planning Committee co-chaired by Provost Dr. Steve Michael and Trustee Dr. Theresa Rollins will lead the planning effort during the spring 2013 semester. The Committee is composed of members of the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and students. An overview of the planning process and names of the members of the Planning Committee are available on MyArcadia. (Log in to MyArcadia; select the Planning tab; and then click Strategic Planning.)

This survey is the first step in collecting information for the development of a strategic plan requested by the Arcadia University Board of Trustees. “This is a very important stage in the evolution of the university,” says President Oxholm. “The product of this exercise will help Arcadia redefine the future direction and its priorities.”

According to Provost Michael, “The Strategic Planning process will require everyone’s involvement and participation. The process will provide you with the opportunity to share your views about the future of the University, your insights about values that should guide management, and your thoughts about strategies to realize the University vision.”

There will also be opportunities to participate in focus groups in February and March to assist the Planning Committee to more fully understand the views and ideas of different groups on campus. In order to develop a strong vision for Arcadia’s future, it is important that everyone contribute ideas to the planning process.
