The Arcadia University Knights (15-10), who enter the first round of the 2013 MAC Commonwealth Basketball Championships seeded fourth, host the fifth-seeded Stevenson University Mustangs (16-9) on Monday, Feb. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Gym.
Arcadia students, faculty and staff will be admitted for free only by showing their Knight Card. Fans are encouraged to wear Arcadia gear. General admission information.
The Knights earned a playoff berth after a win at Widener on Saturday, while the Mustangs got in following a win over Lebanon Valley College and a Messiah College loss. The winner will head to top-seeded Alvernia University for a semifinal game on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m.
Arcadia and Stevenson have already met twice this season with Arcadia winning both contests. On Dec. 1, 2012, Colin McCarthy drew a charge with less than 10 seconds to play to help Arcadia preserve a one-point lead. Travis Saltus, who led the Knights with 17 points, then hit a pair of free throws to secure a 71-68 victory. More recently, on Jan. 19, Joe Brown scored 22 points, including a jumper with 1:09 to play, to put Arcadia up for good in a 77-75 win over Stevenson. Brown gave the Knights a 73-71 lead and then hit a free throw 30-seconds later to put the Knights up by three. Brown and Aaron Lee-Webb then went 3-4 from the line in the final 14-seconds to preserve the victory.
Per MAC regulations, fans without the Knight Pass must pay admission.
