Arcadia Planning Committee Releases Draft Mission Statement

The Arcadia Strategic Planning Committee has released a proposed draft of new Mission, Vision, and Value Statements. The Planning Committee invites the community to review and submit comments by Friday, April 12, 2013.

The Planning Committee will be hosting discussions on the proposed Mission, Vision, and Value Statements.

  • Wednesday, April 10, 11 a.m. – noon, Castle Mirror Room
  • Wednesday, April 10, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., Castle Mirror Room
  • Thursday, April 11, 1 – 2 p.m., Commons Conference Room 3
  • Thursday, April 11, 2 – 3 p.m., Commons Conference Room 3
  • Thursday, April 11, 4 – 5 p.m., Commons Conference Room 3

In addition to the sessions on campus, you are invited to submit comments electronically. Comments will be posted on MyArcadia under the Planning tab.

Next week, the Planning Committee will announce the Strategic Plan Themes that emerged from the survey and focus groups responses from earlier this spring. There will be opportunities for community discussion of the themes scheduled for the weeks of April 15 and 22.

Draft Mission Statement

Arcadia University provides a distinctively global, integrative, and personal learning experience for intellectually curious undergraduate and graduate students in preparation for a life of service, scholarship, and profession. (Proposed April 2, 2013)

Draft Vision Statement

Arcadia will be recognized as a prominent, top-ranked comprehensive global university. We envision Arcadia as a community of diverse scholars and learners renowned for its high-quality faculty and staff; acknowledged for its vibrant and supportive community; acclaimed for its student-centered focus; and valued for making a difference in the lives of its graduates. (Proposed April 2, 2013)
