Michelle L. Dean, MA, ATR-BC, LPC, CGP, HLM (DVATA), has contributed two chapters on art therapies and the therapeutic process to upcoming publications. The first, titled “Cultural Considerations of Eating Disorders with Art Therapy” will feature in Howie, Prasad, and Kristel [Eds.], Using Art Therapies with Diverse Populations: Crossing Cultures and Abilities. The second, “Printmaking: Reflective and Receptive Impressions in the Therapeutic Process” is in press with Rosal, M. and Gussak, D. [Eds.]. in the Wiley-Blackwell Handbook of Art Therapy.
Additionally, Dean recently presented Crack Donuts and the Emaciated Imagination: Disordered Eating and Symbolic Expression at the National Binge Eating Disorder Conference in Bethseda, Md., in March.
Finally, Dean was recently an invited keynote and visiting professor at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Conn., in February and guest presenter at Rosewood College, Rosewood, Pa., on in March.
