Arcadia University is proud to announce that Dr. Jan Walbert has been named Vice President for Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. Reporting directly to the Vice President for University Advancement, Walbert will focus on increasing the University’s communications with alumni of all classes and academic programs, and manage the Annual Giving program, which includes affinity programming, management of class and fund agents, and the paver program.
Walbert joined Arcadia in 1989 in the Student Affairs department, serving as Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs. In 2010, she joined Arcadia’s University Advancement, serving in several leadership roles.
“For more than two decades, Jan’s leadership qualities have been evident at Arcadia University,” said Mary McRae, Vice President for University Advancement. “Her strategic thinking, extensive travel and dedication to Arcadia have helped to establish and strengthen countless relationships with alumni and friends of the University. We look forward to Jan continuing her extraordinary work in her new role.”
Prior to joining Arcadia, Walbert worked in student affairs at Drexel, La Salle and Lehigh universities. She served as President of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and received the association’s 2011 Fred Turner Award for Outstanding Service. She also has served on several Middle States and New England Accreditation teams.
Walbert earned a bachelor’s degree from Juniata College, a master’s degree in education from the University of Vermont, and a doctorate in education from Lehigh University.
