Eaton Publishes in Anthology on the Aesthetic Legacy of Ishmael Reed

Dr. Kalenda Eaton, Department of English, authored a chapter titled “‘You have to know way too much?’: Teaching Ishmael Reed in the University Classroom” in On the Aesthetic Legacy of Ishmael Reed: Contemporary Reassessments, edited by Sami Ludwig (World Parade Books: 2013). The anthology is an interdisciplinary critical response to the impact postmodern writer Ishmael Reed has made to 20th Century American Literature. Eaton’s contribution positions scholarship on Reed’s fiction against students’ critical reception to his work and an analysis of pedagogical strategies she employs when introducing his writings into the classroom.
