Higley Commissioned to Create Sound and Image Piece for Nettlefold Festival

Dr. Jeff Higley of The College of Global Studies was awarded the Eye Music Commission to create a sound and image piece for the Nettlefold Festival to be performed in the inflatable environment, Colourscape, on Sept. 23, 2013, on Clapham Common, London. He will be working with composer Michael Parsons, vocalists, musicians and dancers. Find out more.

Higley also published “Voices of the Land” in the web-based peer-reviewed journal Eurasia Studies Society Journal. The article chronicles Higley’s trip to Mongolia in search of the mythical Sound Mountain. He did not find the mountain, but he discovered the age-old connection between the landscape and the music and song it inspires in its people.
