Emergency Simulation on Campus Today, Aug. 7, 8 a.m. to Noon

Today, Arcadia is taking part in an emergency response scenario with federal and local law enforcement to help measure the University’s response time during a critical incident. From 8 a.m. to noon, a simulated drill of a hostage situation will occur. There will be no actual or simulated ammunition or munitions involved. Arcadia faculty and staff are encouraged to remain inside during the drill.

The drill will occur on the Easton Road side of campus; the University anticipates no disruption of traffic flow. The FBI, Philadelphia Police Department Bomb Squad, Plymouth Whitemarsh Township Explosives K-9 and ATF divisions, Montgomery County Detective and Sheriff’s Bomb Squads, Cheltenham Police Department, and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office are participating.

Anyone with questions should contact Public Safety (215-572-2900).
