Grady Co-edits ‘Shakespeare and the Urgency of Now’

Professor of English Dr. Hugh Grady co-edited Shakespeare and the Urgency of Now: Criticism and Theory in the Twenty-first Century, a critical anthology based on a contemporary view of Shakespeare’s work, with Dr. Cary DiPietro of the University of Toronto. Published by Palgrave Macmillan, the collection of essays focuses on the relevance and importance of Shakespeare for modern-day readers and writers.

Dr. Grady contributed the essay “Reification, Mourning and the Aesthetic in Antony and Cleopatra and The Winter’s Tale.” He also co-wrote the book’s introduction as well as “Presentism, Anachronism and the Case of Titus Andronicus” with Dr. DiPietro.
