Junior forward Molly Goldstein and freshman forward Erin Misner scored two goals each as the Arcadia University field hockey team cruised to a 7-0 victory over visiting Marywood University on Tuesday afternoon at Easton Field. The Knights improved to 3-1 with the win, while the Pacers fell to 0-4 with the loss.
Arcadia outshot Marwood 38-1 in the game and got the only goal it would need from sophomore midfielder Debbie Wolfe 8:44 into the game, and Goldstein and Misner scored just one minute apart to give the Knights a 3-0 lead 13:11 into the contest. Arcadia led 5-0 at the half before receiving goals from sophomore forward Rachel Longenecker and sophomore back Taylor Dalisera in the second for the 7-0 final.
Freshman goalkeeper Brittany Hodson needed to make just one save in her 45:09 in the cage to improve her record to 3-1 for the season. Junior goalkeeper Natalie Winters totaled 16 saves in taking the loss for Marywood.
Arcadia will return to action Saturday, Sept. 14, when it hosts a 4 p.m. non-conference contest against Keystone College at Easton Field. Saturday will be Super Fan day, where Arcadia students that attend all four home events starting at 10 a.m. will receive a free t-shirt and be entered into a drawing to win an X-Box Connect prize pack.
