Volleyball Falls at Widener, 3-1

The Arcadia University volleyball team dropped its first MAC Commonwealth match of the year to host Widener University 3-1 in Chester on Sept. 10. The Knights are 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Commonwealth, while the Pride improved to 7-3 overall and 1-1 in the Commonwealth.

Widener took a commanding 2-0 lead after winning set one, 25-17, and set two, 25-7, but the Knights would rally to defeat the Pride in set three 25-15. The Knights would battle the Pride in set four but came up short, 25-19.

Junior Natalie Cadmus led the Knights with a game-high 14 kills and 16 digs. Freshman Alexia Bell contributed a team-high 25 assists. Senior Veronika Bailey tallied a team-high 17 digs on the evening.

The Knights will host MAC foe Elizabethtown College on Wednesday, Sept. 18, inside Alumni Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
