Sawyer and Physical Therapy Students Honored for Volunteer Work in Jamaica

Dr. Karen Sawyer, assistant professor of physical therapy, traveled with Arcadia University physical therapy students to a Stroke Camp at St. Elizabeth Parish in Jamaica. For one week, the students worked alongside trained physical therapists and tended to patients afflicted with neuromuscular disorders.

In honor of World Physical Therapy Day on Sept. 8, the American Physical Therapy Association’s “Move Forward Radio” site recognized Sawyer and the Arcadia students’ commitment to volunteering overseas. The site includes a video of Stroke Camp.
