School of Global Business to Host Social Security Workshop

As part of a special series of educational lectures for the community, the Arcadia University School of Global Business will present Social Security Optimization on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Brubaker 102. Kim Berry, president of Boreal Insurance Brokerage and former financial advisor for Morgan Stanley, will discuss the methods for maximizing Social Security and effectively planning for retirement.

“For the Baby Boomer generation, Social Security is a cornerstone of their retirement years. This seminar will help to explain how to take that income and maximize it,” says Berry, a highly regarded advocate for married couples planning for retirement and a local expert on Social Security maximization.

In her one hour presentation, Berry will emphasize the top three strategies for increasing Social Security income on a monthly basis—methods that can nearly double one’s annual income, resulting in thousands of dollars of additional income over the course of a lifetime.

“The point of learning these strategies is to help you take the income you’ve made and maximize the income you’ve received over your lifetime,” says Berry, adding that “the government can’t afford for this population to be without this income.”

This informative session will also shed light on how coordinating spousal benefits properly can help to stretch the maximum potential of one’s earnings and why the Senior Citizens Freedom to Work Act of 2000 allows recipients to even begin receiving benefits while current benefits continue to grow.

Berry, a Temple University graduate who holds Life, Health and Property, and Casualty Insurance licenses, founded Boreal Insurance Brokerage to help educate and guide the public on financial issues.

The workshop is free, but seating is limited. The deadline for reservations is Monday October 21st. The workshop is only open to married couples and both husband and wife must attend together. Call 215-572-4056 to reserve seats or register online.
