Education Faculty Present at PAC-TE

Dr. Jodi Bornstein, Dr. Kathy Trainor, and Janet Chance gave a panel presentation, “Owning the Work: University Faculty Coaching Pre-Service Teachers in the Field,” at the Pennsylvania Association for Colleges and Teacher Educators 2013 Teacher Education Assembly, which took place Oct. 23-25. The panel presentation highlighted key learning from Arcadia University’s undergraduate elementary education pre-student teaching program.

At the same conference, Chance co-led a workshop,” Collaborative ‘Thinking Routines’: A Powerful Way to Enrich Student Teaching,” with Carol Nejman, principal of Elkins Park School, and Deb Bambino, middle school teacher at Feltonville School of Arts & Sciences. The workshop gave participants an opportunity to experience collaborative protocols, such as Chalk Talk and Microlabs,  that are now part of the student teaching program at Arcadia.
