Professor of English Dr. Hugh Grady presented alongside three educators—Eric Johnson-DeBaufre from Harvard University, Naomi Conn Liebler from Montclair State University and Iska Alter from Hofstra University—at the 21st Annual Shakespeare Colloquium on Oct. 19. The event, which was hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson University, focused on Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. Grady’s presentation, “Moral Agency and Its Problems in Julius Caesar: Political Power, Choice and History,” explored the topics of providential intervention and the influence of psychological structure in Julius Caesar.
