Macropol Introduces New Data-mining Technique in Paper

In August, Dr. Kathy Macropol, assistant professor of computer science, presented a paper at the 2013 IEEE/ACM International Conference on Advances in Social Networks Analysis and Mining (ASONAM) titled “I act, therefore I judge: Network sentiment dynamics based on user activity change.” The paper introduces a new computer data mining technique that predicts whether someone’s opinion on a topic will change based on both their activity and their friends’ opinions.
