Slesaransky-Poe Speaks at National University of La Plata, Argentina at Conference on Gender Studies and Feminism

Dr. Graciela Slesaransky-Poe, Frank and Evelyn Steinbrucker ’42 Endowed Chair, was invited to present at the Gender Studies and Feminism Conference organized by the Centro Interdisciplinario de Investigaciones en Género, Especialización en Géneros, Sexualidades y Educación (Interdisciplinary Gender Research Center, Gender, Sexuality, and Education) at the National University of La Plata (UNLP), where she attended as an undergraduate student. The theme of the Conference was “Feminisms del siglo XX: desde Cecilia Grierson hasta los debates actuales” (Twentieth Century feminisms from Cecilia Grierson until today’s debates).

Slesaransky-Poe’s presentation, “Interrupting Gender and Hetero- Normative in the US Schools,” as well as her post conference workshop, “Opportunities and Challenges in Creating Safe and Welcoming Schools in the US,” were very well attended and well received. Her work will be published in the conference proceedings.
