Arcadia University’s Zeta Nu Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education, is presenting an exciting event for Dr. Seuss Day. As part of their commitment to education and helping children grow and develop, the members of Arcadia’s chapter are actively involved in various community service activities in the area. They have collaborated with various local schools, after-school programs, child care centers, women’s shelters, and needy families in an effort to assist them in different ways.
This spring the group is partnering with the local chapter of The Autism Society of America to raise funds for autism research and awareness. They are hosting a Dr. Seuss event at the Hiway Theater in Jenkintown, Pa., on Sunday, March 2, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Doors open at 9:30 for face paint and activities, and The Lorax will premiere at 10:10.
Tickets are $7 and can be bought in advance on hiwaytheater.net. In addition, Zeta Nu Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi will have multiple raffle baskets at the event, featuring gift cards and donations from local businesses and restaurants, and even a new digital camera. Bring a book for the book drive (to benefit a local women and children’s shelter) to be automatically entered to win one of the Dr. Seuss raffles.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend this exciting community event.
