April 2: Writers Return to Campus Series Presents Documentary Film ‘Mona Lisa is Missing’

Arcadia University’s Writers Return to Campus Series presents the independent film Mona Lisa Is Missing, written and directed by Joe Medeiros and produced by alumna Justine Mestichelli Medeiros. The film will be shown in Stiteler Auditorium in Murphy Hall at 7:30 p.m. A discussion will follow.

Justine Mestichelli Medeiros has produced several short documentary films for her company, Midair Rose Productions: Sailing the Star of India, Sailing Heritage, and Friends of Independence. Mona Lisa Is Missing: The Man Who Stole the Masterpiece is her first feature-length documentary film.

Film Synopsis

An unlikely thief. An unthinkable theft. An unsolved mystery. Until now. This is the story of the man who stole the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in 1911, his 84-year-old daughter who thought he did it for patriotic reasons, and the filmmaker who spent more than 30 years trying to find the truth.
