Career fairs can be intimidating: “How many organizations should I talk to?” “How can I network and manage my time?” “What are employers looking for?”
During Arcadia University’s Internship and Career Fair (March 25, from 1 to 4 p.m., Alumni Gymnasium, Kuch Center), three 15-minute interactive sessions will address these types of questions and provide tips for student and alumni success. Campus Philly, a nonprofit that encourages students to live and work in the Greater Philadelphia area, will hold the sessions in the Hall of Fame Room on the second floor of Kuch at 1, 2, and 3 p.m. In addition, Career Education will offer a total of four fair prep sessions. Two session will occur each day at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. on both Friday, March 21, and Monday, March 3, in the Castle Dining Room.
The fair offers students and alumni the ability to connect and network with nearly 90 employers and graduate schools, including Aria Health, the FBI, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Independence Blue Cross, Northwestern Mutual, Nutrisystem, Social Security Administration, and graduate admissions offices from Arcadia, Villanova, and Temple universities. In addition, Arcadia alumni will represent organizations such as Briar Bush Nature Center, Prudential, and University City Housing Venture Capital.
For the first time, fair information will be accessible in a free mobile app. Students can download the Grupio: Conference and Event app and search “Arcadia” for a list of Career Fair employers and graduate schools, their booth locations, and information on the Campus Philly sessions.
Students are strongly encouraged to pre-register for the fair at www.arcadia.edu/careerfair. A complete list of organizations attending the fair, as well as more information from Career Education, can be found online.
