School of Education Hosts Events with Spiral Q and the American Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies

In collaboration with the American Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies and Spiral Q (an arts and social justice organization in Philadelphia), Arcadia University’s School of Education hosts “Not JUST Education: An examination of the role of arts and media in just education,” a two-part event that will address finding a common voice for education scholars and activists, along with Philadelphia’s youth media scene and its relationship to schools and neighborhoods.

On Monday, March 31, at 5 p.m., Tracy Broyles of Spiral Q will facilitate a discussion in the Grey Towers Castle Mirror Room for scholars and activists regarding how they can come together around issues of education in and beyond school contexts.

On Wednesday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m., Broyles will return to facilitate a second discussion in the Commons Great Room surrounding the youth media scene in Philadelphia and its relationship to schools and communities in an effort to address youth empowerment, educational reform, and community development.
